...I'm just going to jump right in.

I think the last time I posted I mentioned how I had somehow never been to the Randolph Mint despite living in East Charlotte for like five years, I did it! I always love a craft & design collection, specifically ceramics. How lovely to see Fiestaware on display behind glass. I love Fiestaware.

I was really captivated by Jackie Milad’s “omnivorous” (LUV) mixed media works. I also visited Wing Haven with my camera and got some neat shots I’ve been experimenting with– I’m eager to take it to a larger scale !

On my last visit to Philly, I got in a day of walking around to view some galleries around Rittenhouse, geeked a bit over some Escher tessellations. I still haven't made it to the Philadelphia Museum of Art but I'm determined to get it done my next trip. If any PA heads are reading this; any upcoming shows/galleries worth checking out this summer?

Speaking of, have I talked about Nooran Matties on here yet? I've been following her work since I found it on tumblr (?!?) and have been checking her photo blog religiously ever since. Watching her process evolve to work with shrinky dinks, to pony beads, Nooran has always been a huge creative inspiration and influence to me. I was blown away by her Archival Memory show (could not see it in person but I have seen some of her smaller beaded pieces when I was living in Philly) last fall and the somehow she outdid herself with

her residency with ONE Archives. I can't find photos of it online yet (been viewing via reposted instagram story) but the whole exhibition is up through June!((my parentheses are already feeling excessive))

Let's see, I've been chugging away at my sewing machine since getting back to Charlotte. Mostly mending/learning my way around the machine but I've made quite a few scrunchies, hats, totes, and have been doing a lot of reading about quilting! I realized I already have a free-motion quilting foot I'm stoked to try out. I started a new sketchbook/art journal but haven't touched it much, I'm feeling much more drawn to textile or sculptural work lately. I've kinda lost my lust for drawing.

I'm still playing with plasters and paper clays and cardboard. Studying shrines and reliquaries (Sabrina Mellado has been exploring this too, I'm hooked on their work.) I finished a weaving I started ages ago, it doesn't feel finished but I'm ready to step away from it for the time being, maybe I'll revisit? I have more on that I'll save for my next post that definitely won't take me ten months to write :o) I also DID finish a zine!!! Not the original zine I had been working on, just a little guy, but I'll also save that and give that printable PDF his very own tab on my site menu. I wanted to give that a proper announcement but got weird and vulnerable about it so let's just keep it chill and between us?

I did update the site a few months ago, if you're interested you can check out my 35mm and printmaking/collage pages to see some new stuff I finished last year. Oh and I freshened up ye olde redbubble if you've ever dreamed of having my doodles as stickers. My Jennifer & Needy kewpies are slept on (and have a pretty crazy origin story) in my humble opinion.

Oh right, here's 7-10 months worth of playlists (let’s say seven and pretend I posted this in January, k?)

thanx for looking xo
